Zebra ZT411 and ZT421
Key facts
The ZT411 and ZT421 make up Zebra's current ZT400 series. Both models share operation, memory, interfaces and printer languages. They differ in print width, resolutions and some options: 600 dpi, the linerless version and the on-metal RFID kit are only available for the ZT411.
Ethernet, USB, RS-232 and Bluetooth 4.1 are built in. Two open slots take, for example, Wi-Fi 6 WLAN, a parallel interface or an applicator interface. The printers understand ZPL and, at 203 dpi, EPL; according to the manufacturer, the UHF RFID module can be retrofitted in the field. We set up printing from your ERP system with OPAL Labelmanagement™ or your label software.

Both series cover 4 and 6 inch print widths and can be fitted with UHF RFID. The ZT411 and ZT421 are standalone printers for the workbench and fit well where ZPL templates are already in use. Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the ZT411 and ZT421?
Mainly the print width: 104 mm on the ZT411, 168 mm on the ZT421. The ZT411 is also available with 600 dpi, as a linerless version and with the on-metal RFID kit. Operation, interfaces and printer languages are the same.
Can I add RFID later?
Yes. According to the manufacturer, the integrated UHF RFID module can be retrofitted in the field on both models. The on-metal kit is only available for the ZT411 and not for the 600 dpi model. We work out with you which labels and inlays suit your process.
Will my existing label templates still work?
ZPL and ZPL II templates run directly, and EPL is supported at 203 dpi. For other manufacturers' languages, Zebra's RFID series datasheet names the Virtual Devices app. We check your templates before you switch.
How does the printer connect to my ERP system?
The printer joins the network via Ethernet or optional WLAN. Your label software or OPAL Labelmanagement™ generates the labels from your ERP data. We set up the integration with you.
What are the benefits of the linerless version?
Linerless labels have no backing paper, so there is no liner waste. According to the manufacturer, up to 50% more labels fit on a roll. The factory ZT411 Linerless prints direct thermal only; the field-installable kit retains thermal transfer.
Which model is the predecessor?
The ZT411 is the successor to the ZT410. In the shop, some spare parts such as printheads, platen roller and cutter are listed for both the ZT410 and the ZT411.
