Key facts
The ZD621 is the 4-inch desktop printer in Zebra's ZD600 series. All versions share print quality, memory, printer languages and interfaces. They differ in print method, in operation via LEDs or a colour touch display and in special features such as RFID, linerless or the healthcare housing.
Ethernet, USB, USB host and a serial interface are built in; according to the manufacturer, Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 5 WLAN can be fitted at the factory or later. The printer understands ZPL II and EPL 2 and emulates other manufacturers' languages via an app. We set up printing from your ERP system with OPAL Labelmanagement™ or your label software.

The ZD621 fits where space is limited and labels are printed in small to medium quantities: at packing stations, in offices, in laboratories. The ZT411 takes larger label and ribbon rolls, prints faster and offers 600 dpi and an applicator interface. Thermal transfer or direct thermal: which model do I need?
Direct thermal prints without ribbon on heat-sensitive paper and suits short-lived labels such as shipping labels. Thermal transfer prints via a ribbon and is the choice for labels that must last or are printed on film. The ZD621 thermal transfer model handles both methods.
Can I run the ZD621 without mains power?
Yes. According to the manufacturer, an optional 2,750 mAh battery is available for the series. The shop lists the battery base and the battery kit.
Which ribbons fit?
The ZD621 takes 300 m ribbons on a 25.4 mm core and 74 m ribbons on a 12.7 mm core. The width ranges from 33.8 to 109.2 mm. We work out with you which ribbon and label combination suits your application.
Will templates from other manufacturers' printers run?
The ZD621 understands ZPL II and EPL 2. According to the manufacturer, it emulates other manufacturers' languages via the Printer Emulations app. We test your templates before you switch.
Can a cutter, dispenser or WLAN be added later?
According to the manufacturer, yes: dispenser and cutter are available factory-fitted or as field upgrades, as is the WLAN module. Note that some accessories only fit the direct thermal model or only the thermal transfer model.
What can the ZD621R do?
The ZD621R prints and encodes UHF RFID labels to EPC Gen 2 V2.1 and ISO/IEC 18000-63. The encoder is integrated, and the minimum pitch between two tags is 16 mm. You can find more on RFID in the RFID overview.
