THE ROLE

Maintain rather than repair.

Are you an electronics technician, mechatronics technician or IT specialist (m/f/d), or do you have a comparable qualification? Do you enjoy the mix of fieldwork and office work and have you had enough of hectic emergency call-outs?

At OPAL we use foresight to prevent breakdowns before they happen. In this role you are not a firefighter: you secure the longevity of our customers devices through regular, planned care. We are looking for a technically skilled addition to our maintenance team, in the field and in the office.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

What to expect.

Preventive maintenance: You visit our customers on a routine basis to service industrial label printers (Zebra, Honeywell, Sato, CAB, TEC and others).
Value preservation: You clean devices professionally, check their functions and preventively replace wear parts such as platen rollers or printheads.
No deep interventions on site: Complex repairs or extensive troubleshooting are not part of your role at the customer site.
Office work: You carry out more extensive repairs and servicing at our office.
Documentation: You record the condition of devices and your activities in our service system and independently handle order preparation and follow-up, including material ordering.
Coverage area: Your core territory covers French-speaking Switzerland and the Bern area, including Bern, Lausanne, Biel, Geneva, Neuchatel and Valais.

YOUR PROFILE

Technical understanding and a love of driving.

Background: Ideally you come from the printer or copier segment or have a comparable technical education, for example as an IT specialist or electronics technician (m/f/d). Technically skilled career changers are just as welcome.
Technical understanding: You do not need to be an expert on every manufacturer yet. What matters is a solid technical foundation, plus basic IT skills, for example to install and configure a printer driver.
Mobility: You hold a category B driving licence. Since you cover a large area, enjoying driving and being willing to travel come naturally to you.
Way of working: You work in a structured, reliable way and have a high degree of self-organisation.
Place of residence: For short commutes, your home is ideally well connected in the Bern region or in French-speaking Switzerland.
Languages: Excellent German, French and English, spoken and written.
