Many wearables on the market are large, heavy and unwieldy – real productivity gains fail to materialise. The Honeywell 8680i scan glove does it differently: light, intuitive and completely hands-free.

THE CORE PROBLEM
Wearables you can’t actually work with
Recently, numerous new wearables have come onto the market – but few are convincing. Until now, the 8670 ring scanner from Honeywell was the only exception: the battery and Bluetooth unit are worn on the wrist, which makes working easier and lighter. So we were all the more curious about the new 8680i scan glove.
THE SOLUTION
Two scanning methods, both intuitive
The 8680i is worn either as a glove – the scan beam is triggered by the right hand movement – or attached to two fingers and triggered by a switch. Both methods work easily and intuitively; hands-free working enormously increases productivity.
- →Light & hygienic: at 151 grams, the hand does not tire so quickly. The mounting ring and glove can be changed quickly – the gloves come in various sizes.
- →Flexibly connected: pairing via Bluetooth with an external device (e.g. PDA, Honeywell CT60 or smartphone) – or as a WLAN variant that communicates directly with the host system.
- →Display feedback: the WLAN variant with the extended screen version reports two lines of text back to the user – making additional devices completely superfluous.
- →Well-thought-out accessories: 4-bay battery charger and 4-bay charging unit, two battery packs (approx. 3,000 scans in an 8-hour shift or 8,000 scans in a 10-hour shift), NFC interface for easy configuration.
FOR YOUR BUSINESS
Versatile applications
Whether in the warehouse, in production or in asset inventory for scanning asset inventory labels – the Honeywell 8680i always cuts a fine figure.
