Water-soluble labels mark reusable containers temporarily – and can be removed without residue using water after use. Ideal wherever containers are repeatedly put back into circulation.

FIELDS OF APPLICATION
Where water-soluble labels are used
- →Food and beverage industry: temporary marking of kegs and crates, food rotation labels, reusable systems
- →Hospitals: labelling of trays, retention samples, hygiene marking
- →Commercial kitchens: labels for meal trays, catering, goods traceability, retention samples
- →Chemical and pharmaceutical industry: laboratory supplies, canisters, containers, trays, stainless-steel and glass vessels
- →Logistics: reusable transport containers of all kinds
THE APPLICATION
Print, stick on – and remove again in seconds
Our water-soluble labels are very well suited to the temporary marking of beverage crates, reusable transport containers made of glass, plastic and metal, high-quality household items, laboratory vessels or retention samples in the food industry. This optimises your processes, saves time and meets legal and hygiene requirements – the product complies with FDA 175.105 for indirect food contact.
The labels can be printed using thermal transfer, flexo, laser printing and almost all common printing processes. Since printing inks can impair the water solubility of the label paper, we recommend water-based inks; you should avoid UV curing.
The material adheres very well to metals, glass and paper, and well to plastic surfaces such as PE, PP, PVC and polystyrene. In cold water, the label dissolves completely within seconds – cleaning agents and heat additionally speed up the process.
TECHNICAL PROPERTIES
The key data at a glance
- →Application: optimal application temperature from +10 °C to +35 °C
- →Adhesive bond: temperature-resistant from −40 °C to +100 °C, briefly up to approx. +200 °C
- →Moisture: moisture adhering to the substrate is absorbed by the pressure-sensitive adhesive without impairing adhesion
- →Water solubility: fully water-soluble from pH 3 to pH 14; alkalinity and elevated wash-water temperatures speed up the dissolving process, and filter screens remain free of adhesive and label residue
- →Standards: the pressure-sensitive adhesive complies with TAPPI UM 213 and PTS-PR 252/90
