OMS, the mobile framework of OPAL, stands for modern, secure, high-performance, user-friendly and platform-independent mobile applications for industrial use.
THE FRAMEWORK
One modular system for all platforms
With the OMS modular system, you adapt business processes to the requirements of your company as flexibly and precisely as possible. The modern architecture solves requirements quickly and independently of products – on Android as well as iOS and Windows systems.
The framework supports all current hardware models – forklift terminals, smartphones, tablets, wearable devices – and has already integrated many manufacturer-specific libraries for connecting hardware interfaces. To meet today’s requirements for barcode scanning, in particular structured barcodes according to standards like GS1, OMS communicates directly with the scan engines: the only way to achieve high flexibility and performance. NFC and GPS technologies are also on the advance and becoming more and more important in mobile applications.

THE QUALITY
Built following GAMP 5 guidelines
Our applications are built to a very high quality following GAMP 5 guidelines. As an expert in auto-ID applications, OPAL has extensive experience in the development of industrial mobile applications. Our solutions are used across the complete supply chain process and help our customers increase process reliability and improve quality.
Over the past few decades, we have developed over 100 solutions and continuously added new ideas, concepts and individual components to our framework. Today’s project run-times can be reduced by a significant factor, as we never have to start from scratch – if a standard solution does not exist already.
THE SECURITY
OPAL Service Host: secure by design
In the area of product security, the OPAL Service Host (OSH) enhances the framework with a platform that meets the latest security standards for secure connections, authentication and authorization. Company data is not only transmitted encrypted – it can also be checked and deleted if necessary. Mobile device management is part of the OSH as well, providing efficient control and monitoring of activities using GPS localization.
THE INTEGRATION
Interfaces to all common ERP systems
Thanks to numerous implementations and continuous development, interfaces to all common ERP systems are available – SAP®, Infor, Oracle, SOU and others. As an Auto-ID system integrator, OPAL has many years of experience in connecting mobile applications to backend systems, with broad knowledge of the SAP environment – integrating business functions for SAP customers independently.
