Android Enterprise is Google’s programme for the business use of Android. It defines how devices are managed, secured and supplied with apps. This includes automatic enrolment of new devices, separated work profiles and controlled app distribution. Because almost all rugged devices in the AutoID field run Android, this is the basis for operating entire fleets.
Google Android Enterprise
What is Android Enterprise?
Which problems do we solve with Android Enterprise?
Android in operation raises different questions than Android in private use.
Devices allow too much
A work device should do the job, not open the entire Play Store.
Setup takes too long
Setting up every device by hand is not feasible at larger quantities.
Private and business mixed
Without separation, company data ends up in private apps and the other way round.
Unclear security updates
Without control it remains open which device is on which patch level.
How do we solve this in practice?
We implement Android Enterprise together with SOTI MobiControl.
Automatic enrolment
New devices enrol themselves on first start and finish their own setup.
Locked work mode
The device shows only the apps needed for the task.
Controlled apps and updates
Distribution and updates run centrally, traceably and without intervention on site.
Partner status and certifications
Our contribution lies in the implementation, backed by certified tools and hardware.
Android Enterprise
We set devices up according to the programme’s requirements and manage them through it.
Validated hardware
The devices we use from Zebra, Honeywell and Datalogic are approved for Android Enterprise.
ISO 9001
OPAL works to a certified quality management system, from consulting through to service.
